Philosophical Wondering
Monday 27-Friday 31 augustus
Start Monday 10.30- till friday 12.30 with concluding lunch
If you are interested in Philosophy, Art and Nature, and you enjoy meeting thoughtful creative international people then this is the holiday for you!
EPIC International Consultants are offering a new venture combining a holiday in the beautiful surroundings of ISVW with stimulating philosophical and creative experiences. Designed for adults, teenagers, children, families or singles - everyone from every nation is welcome. The language of communication will be English, however EPIC International Consultants also speak German, Latvian, Dutch, Russian, French, Indonesian and some French and will help with translation where needed.
We will be wondering about: Philosophy, Art, Sculpture, The Environment, Nature and The World in a variety of different kinds of philosophical discussions and creative activities.
As well as delicious food and good company, the international holidaymakers will take part in cross-cultural group activities: investigating the environment both physically and conceptually; reflecting philosophically on beauty and form in nature and in art; creating sculptures from the environment; discussing the nature of The Environment, The World and Nature; enquiring into the reality, structure and physics of the world; looking at questions raised by the activities such as “What counts as Nature?” “What makes something beautiful?” “Do we have a moral obligation to the environment?” “Is there a difference between a work of art and a copy of that work of art, and if so, what is it?” And many more. In the middle of the week holidaymakers will have an option of visiting the Kroller-Muller Museum and experiencing the exhibits from an entirely new philosophical perspective, under the guidance of the Holiday Philosophers.
‘Philosophical Wondering’ is not a course but rather a new form of stimulating, refreshing and invigorating holiday that will leave holidaymakers with the feeling of re-creation and re-engagement in the wonder of the world. If you don’t want to do bowling, water-jogging, ‘koekhappen’ (cake-eating-game) etc. initiated by the hotel entertaining team during your holiday, but do want to discover the boundaries of your thoughts, exercise your listening, formulate your thoughts, stimulate your creativity, enhance the flexibility of your thinking and really meet people (by getting to know how they think, not only what they think), have a ‘wonderful/wondering’ holiday created by the philosophical entertainment team of EPIC International Consultants at ISVW. Have a holiday you really will never forget [What does ‘really’ mean? What is ‘forgetting’?]
